Projects and Accomplishments
  • Developed a Sharepoint Web Site for an HR Department to serve as a document repository containing recruitment logs, forms, historical records, employee records, event and activity coordination, calendars and to address other information sharing requirements. Coordinated with the company’s IT department, wrote documentation and trained employees.
  • Designed and conducted computer classes for employees based on an observed need for basic computer training. Employees were able to attend a class on-site, the class was free and specific questions were addressed resulting in increased productivity.
  • Coordinated needs between employees, designers and contractors for 350-person office move by setting expectations, communicating, problem solving, and decision-making. As a result, the project was completed on time, within budget, with happy team members, and minimal disruption to business activities.
  • Compiled and wrote documentation for data retention and back-up policy due to increasing questions regarding policy on this issue. The written document resulted in an internal and external understanding of the policy and procedures required.
  • Identified the inefficiency of redrawing floor plans for conducting store inventory and planning floor moves. Created floor plan and fixture templates that saved time and improved accuracy as plans were drawn to scale.
  • Improved workstation design based on interviews and observation. Workflow, productivity, ergonomics, storage and workspace were improved and interruptions were reduced.
  • Noticed that company forms were not formatted or purchased in a cost-effective manner. Reviewed forms for one year, making format and purchasing changes that resulted in savings of $30,000 annually.
  • Performed the IT project management role in the development of the data warehouse. The data warehouse now serves as the single source of data for the corporation.
  • Worked with management team to develop training materials and documentation for the new project methodology based on the Microsoft Solutions Framework. The development of materials and training of staff resulted in understanding expectations and project success.
  • Proposed, purchased and installed computers for management. Conducted training to expedite tangible results. Resulting email communications improved consistency among management, reduced paperwork and increased productivity.
  • Acted as liaison between management and the technical services department to improve the understanding of business needs by the technical group and their resulting proposals to the management team.
  • Found vendors needed to meet contractual obligations. Researched, contacted and negotiated with vendors until a suitable agreement could be made that resulted in the purchase of needed services that met the requirements of the contract with the State.
  • Participated in testing a computerized order system by actively documenting and reporting issues found during volunteer trial use of the system. Issues were brought forth and ideas offered that would not have otherwise been identified until implementation.
